Introduction
You are one
of the new colonists of Jamestown. Jamestown is a new colony and its member
will face many hardships while trying to secure Jamestown's future. Winter
is approaching and the question that concerns everyone in the colony is
who will be able to outwit, outplay, outlast and SURVIVE... Jamestown.
Task
Your job is
to critically examine which individuals are vital to the future of Jamestown
. Eventually you must decide which members of the colony will remain and
which will be banished on Survivor: The Jamestown Episode.
Process
There are several
steps that need to be taken to determine who will be the SURVIVORS.
1. Day 1:
Use
the internet resources provided to answer the questions on the
Day 1
handout
provided by the teacher.
2. Day 2:
In
groups assigned by the teacher determine the colonists who should be eliminated
and voted out of Jamestown and complete the Day 2 handout.
3. Day 3:
In
groups complete the Jamestown Survivor wrap-up handout.
Resources
Use the following
resources to answer the questions on your Day 1 handout. Completion
of the Day 1 handout will assist you in determining what Survivors
will outwit, outplay and outlast each other on Survivor: The Jamestown
Episode.
Evaluation
You will be
evaluated on correct completion of the Day 1 handout, The Day 2
Group Activity, the Day 2 handout, and the Survivor Wrap-up handout.
Conclusion
By the end
of this Web quest you will have critically considered the hardships and
difficulties endured by those involved in the settlement of Jamestown.
